In 1984, Takshashila Mahavidyalaya was founded. Under the direction of the Shri Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust in Amravati, it was established. The trust wants to offer higher education to all students from socially and economically disadvantaged sections, keeping in mind the objectives set forth by the great visionary Dr. BR Ambedkar. The trust is regarded for offering top-notch and priceless services in the sphere of education and currently manages over 40 institutions, ranging from basic schools to colleges. 

The adequate facility and knowledgeable staff at Takshashila Mahavidyalaya support students' entire growth. The institute provides a wide range of courses, such as BA, BBA, MCom, BCA, BSc, and others. A few value-added courses are also available, including Communicative English, Personality Development, Tally, Competitive Exams Training, Microsoft Excel, etc. Additionally, the college provides scholarships for OBC, SC, and ST students.
