IIT Goa Courses & Fees

IIT Goa offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degree programs in various disciplines through its 7 schools. These schools include School of Mathematics & Computer Science, School of Electrical Sciences, School of Physical Sciences, School of Mechanical Sciences, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Chemical & Materials Science, and School of Interdisciplinary Life Sciences.

The Indian Institute of Technology Goa course admission is based on entrance exams, eligibility, and other factors. IIT Goa fees vary from one program to another. IIT Goa MTech

About: At the postgraduate level, there are 3  IIT Goa MTech programs. They include MTech in computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Admissions to these MTech programs at the institute are based on valid GATE scores obtained by eligible candidates. In each of these courses, the Institute has a total intake of 12 students. 2 seats in each course are available under the sponsored or self-financed category.

Fees: The fee structure of MTech program is divided into regular fees and sponsored fees. Further, it varies depending on the different categories of students. The table below summarises the fee structure for various MTech courses.

  Eligibility: The eligibility criteria for admission into various MTech programs at the institute are as follows:

• The candidates from the General, Gen-EWS, and OBC categories must be GATE-qualified.
• In their respective graduation courses from a reputed institute, the General, Gen-EWS, and OBC students must have scored a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.00 on a scale of 10.
• For SC/ST/PD category candidates, this percentage is 55% or 5.50 CGPA out of 10 marks.
• The sponsored and self-financed candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria above or have a minimum work experience of 2 years.
• The IIT graduates with a CGPA equal to or more than 8 can apply for direct admission without GATE scores.

IIT Goa B.Tech

About: The 4-year undergraduate courses include IIT Goa BTech programs in 4 disciplines- Computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and mathematics and computing. The Institute has a total intake of 150 students across the various BTech branches.

Fees: The BTech fees consist of one-time fees, tuition fees, amenities fees, security deposits, and medical insurance. The one-time fees include admission fees, student welfare funds, and other particulars. Students need to submit per semester fees, which consist of tuition fees and fees for other amenities. All the students belonging to the PwD, SC, and ST categories are exempted from paying tuition fees. A detailed description of the fee structure is given below.

Eligibility: The candidates willing to get admission to BTech courses at the institute must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate in 12th grade.
• Candidate must have secured a merit rank within the IIT Goa cutoff in the JEE Advanced examination.
• The qualified shortlisted candidates must next appear for JoSAA Counselling rounds.

IIT Goa P.hD

About: Students can take IIT Goa PhD courses either full-time or part-time mode. The respective departments offer PhD courses in the disciplines of Enigeering, Sciences, Humanities, and Social Sciences. A semester system is followed by the institute, which has two semesters in one academic year. The candidates who wish to pursue PhD in part-time mode, must be working in the similar field.

Fees: The fees for various IIT Goa PhD courses vary according to the category of enrolled students. The charges of a one-time fee, security deposit, and annual insurance are the same for all however, the tuition fee differs. The table below summarises the fee structure of PhD courses at the institute.

Eligibility: The candidates willing to get admission to full-time PhD courses at the institute must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Obtaining 60% marks or 5.5 CPI from 10 in their postgraduate program is mandatory for students.
• In their undergraduate program, candidates must have achieved 70% marks or 7 CPI from 10.
• Candidates must have qualified for any of the following: GATE or JRF of CSIR/ DBT/ NBHM/ ICAR/ UGC/ ICPR fellowships in relevant streams.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience after obtaining the qualifying degree.

The candidates willing to get admission to part-time PhD courses at the institute must fulfill any one of the following eligibility criteria:

• A score of minimum 60% or 6 CPI from 10 in a relevant postgraduate degree with 2 years of professional working experience.
• A score of minimum 60% or 6 CPI from 10 in a relevant undergraduate degree with 4 years of professional working experience.
• A score of minimum 60% or 6 CPI from 10 in a relevant postgraduate degree from IIT/ NIT/ IIIT/ IISc/ IISER with 1 year of professional working experience.
• A score of minimum 80% or 8 CPI from 10 in a relevant undergraduate degree from IIT/ NIT/ IIIT/ IISc/ IISER with 1 year of professional working experience.

4. Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)  

 About: The IIT Goa  Executive PG in ERP is available for self-employed and working professionals. The course primarily focuses on theoretical and programming aspects. The course is carried out in online mode, with 5 days of on-campus schedule. On completion of this course, candidates will be awarded with an Executive Postgraduate Diploma in ERP, and SAP Global Certification. The SAP Global Certification will be provided for the one core model opted by the candidate.

Fees: The candidates must first pay the refundable registration fees while submitting their admission application. The students who are not selected will receive their refund with a deduction of the processing fee of Rs 1,000. The fee structure for Executive PG in ERP is as follows:

Eligibility: The eligibility criteria for the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning from the institute are as follows:

•  The course is open to working professionals and self-employed individuals.
• Candidates must have achieved a minimum of 60% marks in their qualifying degree.
• The candidates must have some experience with the field of IT systems and programming.

IIT Goa Admission Requirement & Process

IIT Goa offers various UG, PG and PhD programs through its seven schools or departments. The admission process to all these courses are based on national examinations conducted by the relevant organization. The university offers BTech, MTech, PhD and Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning.

IIT Goa Admission Process

The IIT Goa admission process involves fulfilling the eligibility criteria and obtaining merit scores within the cut-off marks in the relevant entrance examinations. Different courses require students to clear the different national-level entrance exams.

• The institute offers admission to BTech programs with valid JEE marks and JoSAA counselling.
• Candidates should appear for the JEE Advanced exam after clearing the JEE Mains exam.
• Candidates must also register for JoSAA counselling to reserve a seat in the college.
• IIT Goa Admission to the mentioned PG courses is done through the GATE exam and COAP counselling.
• IIT Roorkee also offers PhD programs in modes of full-time and part-time.
• Admission to PhD courses are done through the GATE/JRF/UGC NET/GPAT examination.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

IIT Goa Internship by School of Chemical & Material Science

The internship offered by the School of Chemical and Material Science is available for students pursuing their postgraduate studies in the relevant field. The internship duration is 5 weeks, and 3 candidates will be selected on the basis of their past academic performance. The title of the internship is Femtochemistry in Natural and Hybrid Systems.

Eligibility:

Candidates in their postgraduate studies can apply for this IIT Goa internship. They must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• The student must be enrolled in any of the following courses: MSc, Integrated BSc and MSc program.
• At the time of applying for the internship, the student must be in the pre-final year of their course program.
• They must also present a No Objection Certificate duly signed by the HoD or Supervisor of their department.

IIT Goa Internship by the School of Electrical Sciences

The School of Electrical Sciences offers an internship for PG students studying VLSI and similar fields of IMC. Two candidates will be selected for this internship based on their past academic performance. The internship will be based on designing circuits for Analog In-Memory Computing.

Eligibility:

Candidates in their postgraduate studies can apply for this IIT Goa internship. They must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• The student must be enrolled in an MTech course with a specialization in Microelectronics.
• The student must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in their BTech degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.
• They must also present a No Objection Certificate duly signed by the HoD or Supervisor of their department. 

IIT Goa Campus

Currently, IIT Goa is functioning temporarily at the Goa Engineering College in Farmagudi. The government of India has identified the IIT Goa campus of 250 acres in Rivona, Sangeum. IIT Goa Scholarships

The institute provides several scholarships and financial aid to meritorious and deserving students. Two types of scholarships are available for meritorious students who fulfill the criteria laid down for them. The institute scholarships include Merit-cum-means scholarship, remission of fees, and free messing facilities. Students can also opt for any of the several scholarships available through the National Scholarship Portal.

• Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship: General category students with parental income of less than INR 4.5 Lakhs can apply for this scholarship.
• Free Mess Scholarship: SC and ST category students with parental income less than INR 4.5 LPA can apply for free messing facilities.
• Remission of Fees: Students from economically weaker sections with parental income less than INR 1 LPA can apply for this financial aid.
• National Scholarships: Several scholarships are available on the national scholarship portal for UG and PG students. Students must visit the official NSP portal for detailed information.

IIT Goa Cutoff Analysis

To secure admission in any of the courses offered by IIT Goa, candidates need to obtain merit scores in national-level entrance examinations and fulfill the eligibility criteria. The merit scores obtained by candidates must be within the IIT Goa cutoff rank to be considered for admission. The institute accepts the scores of exams like JEE Advanced, GATE, UGC NET, and fellowships in SIR/ DBT/ NBHM/ ICAR/ UGC/ ICPR. In 2023, the JEE Advanced cutoff for admission to BTech courses was in the range of AIR 3498 to AIR 11060. In 2022, the IIT Goa cutoff for JEE Advanced was AIR 3729 to AIR 11209. IIT Goa's cutoff for the GATE exam to secure admission in MTech courses has been around AIR 15674 in the past years.
