IIT Indore Courses & Fees

IIT Indore offers 9 courses in the BTech program, 15 courses in the MTech program, 5 in the MSc program, 4 in the BTech + MTech dual degree program, 6 in the MS program, and 19 in PhD program across varied disciplines. IIT Indore’s fee structure varies with the different undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. IIT Indore Hostel

It is mandatory for all the enrolled students to stay in IIT Indore hostels. The institute currently has 6 fully functional hostels of which one is reserved for female students. The JC Bose IIT Indore hostel rooms having an attached kitchen are reserved for married students and some staff members.

All the hostels have been constructed close to each other with adjoining playgrounds and sprawling gardens. IIT Indore hostel rooms are equipped with high-speed internet, basic furniture, laundry services, and 24-hour security. For the comfort of students, the hostels have been strategically placed close to academic buildings and research laboratories.

IIT Indore Scholarship

When it comes to scholarships, IIT Indore stays at the forefront of helping its students with a range of financial assistance and scholarship programs. IIT Indore GATE Cutoff (2021)

IIT Indore Admission Process 2024

IIT Indore course admissions into the various programs are made on the basis of national-level entrance examinations. Let's have a look at each one of them in detail.

BTech Courses

To get admission to BTech courses, the following process needs to be followed:

• To be eligible for admission in any of the 9 BTech courses in IIT Indore, candidates must have passed 12th from a reputed board or institution.
• The candidate should next qualify for both the JEE Main and JEE Advanced examinations and achieve a valid score.
• Once they receive their ranking, candidates need to apply for the JoSAA counseling process, wherein they fill in the colleges of their choice.
• The JoSAA counseling may go up to several rounds, just like in 2023, where it went up to 6 rounds in IIT Indore.
• Once shortlisted for admission to the institute, the authorities reach out to students for document verification. The last step is to submit all your documents and pay the requisite fees.

MTech/ MS Courses

Admission to any of the 15 MTech or 6 MS courses require the prospective students to possess a valid BE or BTech degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.

• Candidates must next obtain a valid score in the GATE examination.
• After obtaining the scorecard, they must apply for the counseling process.
• The selected candidates are allotted seats depending on their AIR and the choice of college they have filled in.
• After the seat allotment process, the students need to verify their documents with the Admission Cell and submit the requisite IIT Indore fees.

MSc Courses

To be eligible for admission in any of the 5 MSc courses at IIT Indore, the prospective students must have secured an aggregate of 60% marks in a relevant field of specialisation from a recognised university.

• The candiadtes should next obtain a good ranking in the IIT JAM examination
• After obtaining a valid scorecard, candidates should apply for the rounds of JAM counselling.
• Based on the marks obtained, authorities shortlist the meritorious students, who are then called for document verification and fee submission.

PhD Courses

To be eligible for admission in any of the 19 PhD courses at IIT Indore, the prospective candidates must have obtained a master's degree in a relevant subject. Along with that, the candidate must necessarily have a valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR-JRF score to get admission to the PhD courses.

• To start with the admission process, the candidates must log in to the official website and fill out the PhD application form before the deadline.
• The institute then selects the candidates to be called for a Personal Interview round, following which a merit list is declared.

As the last step, the selected candidates need to get their documents verified and fees submitted to complete the IIT Indore admission process.  

IIT Indore Placement

From the very beginning, the placement drives at IIT Indore have received great offers. In 2023, 228 out of the 253 registered students got placed in highly acclaimed organisations like Microsoft, Zomato, Qualcomm, and Flipkart. IIT Indore's highest package offered was INR 68 LPA, the median CTC was INR 19.10 LPA, and the average CTC stood at INR 25.45 LPA.

With the highest CTC offered of INR 68 LPA, IIT Indore placement rounds of 2023 broke its record from 2022, when the highest CTC offered was INR 56 LPA. IIT Indore’s average package improved from INR 23.5 LPA to INR 25.45 LPA. For the postgraduate students, the highest package dropped from INR 41.48 LPA (2022) to INR 40 LPA (2023). Similarly, the average postgraduate package for all branches saw a decline from INR 14.71 LPA (2022) to 13.01 LPA (2023).

On comparing the IIT Indore placement trends across the BTech courses, the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering branches scored the maximum placement percentage. The Computer Science department also grabbed the highest package in the 2023 IIT Indore placement.

IIT Indore Internship

IIT Indore internship programs are one of the many traits that differentiate it from others. The institute offers a skill development training program to students as well as employees based on activities of the concerned laboratory.
