1. IIT Dharwad MTech

About: Students can pursue MTech degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. The two-year program accepts eligible students with a valid GATE score. The institute has a total intake of 22 students in each of the MTech courses.  

Eligibility: Interested students must fulfil the following eligibility criteria for admission into various MTech programs at the institute.

• The candidates must have a BTech or equivalent degree in relevant specialisation from recognised institutes.
• The score obtained by the candidate in their past qualification degree must be 60% or more.
• The candidate must obtain a merit score within IIT Dharwad’s cutoff range in the GATE examination and go through the COAP counselling process.
• Candidates with a minimum grade of CGPA 8 from IITs or IISCs can apply directly. They are not required to clear the GATE exam for MTech admissions.

2. IIT Dharwad BTech

About: IIT Dharwad admission to BTech courses is based on the JEE Advanced examination. The institute offers BTech courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Mechanical Engineering. The BTech program is 8 semesters long.

Eligibility: The candidates willing to get admission to BTech courses at the institute must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

• The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate in 12th grade.

3. IIT Dharwad BS + MS Dual Degree

About: The BS+MS degree program provides students with the opportunity to major in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. It is an interdisciplinary course of 10 semesters which focuses on real-world applications and skill development.

Eligibility: The criteria for admission to the BS+MS course are the same as those for the BTech course program at IIT Dharwad.

• The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 75% aggregate in 12th grade.
• Candidate must have secured a merit rank within the IIT Dharwad cutoff in the JEE Advanced examination after clearing the JEE Mains exam.

4. IIT Dharwad MS

About: The Master of Science program at the institute is available for the fields of Computer Science, Electrical Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering. Candidates can be admitted to this course program as full-time or part-time research scholars.

Eligibility: The eligibility criteria are different for the courses of MS at IIT Dharwad are as follows:

• The candidate must have graduated with a first-class score in their BE/ BTech or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline. SC/ST students are provided with a relaxation of 5%.
• The candidate must have achieved a valid GATE score.
• IIT and IISC students with a minimum of 8 CGPA in their respective BTech or BS degrees can apply for MS without GATE scores.

6. IIT Dharwad PhD

About: The institute offers PhD degree programs in all its 10 departments. Candidates can be admitted to this course program as full-time or part-time researchers. The part-time enrollers have the liberty to carry out their research work outside of campus; however, they must be available full-time until the completion of coursework.

Eligibility: The admission criteria for PhD program across various departments include the following:  

• Candidates with an MTech or BTech degree must have achieved 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6. The eligibility criteria for SC/ ST students is 55% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.
• Candidates seeking admission to PhD programmes in Basic Sciences must have scored 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6 in their MPhil/ MSc/ MTech/ BTech or any equivalent programs. The eligibility criteria for SC/ ST students is 55% or 5.5 CGPA out of 10.
• Those who wish to get admission to PhD programmes in Humanities & Social Science must possess a postgraduate degree in MPhil/ MA/ or any other equivalent degree. It is a must to obtain 55% marks or a CGPA of 5.5 for all candidates. The eligibility criteria for SC/ ST students is 50% or 5 CGPA out of 10.

IIT Dharwad Internship

IIT Dharwad Scholarship 2024
