IIT Madras offers more than 100 courses at three levels of study: undergraduate, postgraduate, and research. Courses are offered in engineering, science, humanities, and business administration. IIT Madras Admission Process 2024

IIT Madras admission is based on an entrance examination. The university offers admission in B.Tech and dual degrees B. Tech + M.Tech as the main courses and their admission is based on JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) marks. IIT Madras also offers MTech, MSc, MBA, MA, MS, and PhD admissions. This is a PG-level course. Admission to M.Tech and M.Sc programs of IIT Madras is granted based on GATE and IIT JAM scores.

• Admission to B.Tech courses is based on JEE Main exam score and JoSAA counseling score. For final admission one has to appear in JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
• Admission to the M.Tech course is based on the GATE exam score.
• Admission to the M.Sc course is based on the JAM exam score.
• IIM Madras Admission to the master's program is based on HSEE (Humanities and Social Sciences Examination) scores. This test is performed in a laboratory.
• PhD admission course is based on GATE, CSIR-NET, or UGC-NET scores, and counseling is done at the university level.

The Following Documents Are Required for Registration:-

• Class 10 certificate or birth certificate, if the date of birth is mentioned,
• Class 12 certificate (or equivalent examination),

After Registration, Candidates Have to Pay a Registration Fee

• INR 2900 for general candidates and
• INR1450 for all other categories.

Registration Fees Are Non-Refundable and Non-Transferable

• After paying the registration fee, candidates can download their admit card from the online registration portal of JEE Advanced 2024.
• Candidates must bring the admit card and original photo ID with them during the examination.
• Candidates must meet the IIT Madras cut-off of 2024 for JEE Advanced to be shortlisted.
• JoSAA counseling will be requested from shortlisted candidates, IIT Madras should be selected as their preferred institution.
• After counseling completion, candidates must visit IIT Madras for document verification and payment of admission fees.

• IIT Madras has an internship and placement office that manages and organizes the entire process of student recruitment.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras offers more than 25 scholarships based on the financial status of students or their academic performance. IIT Madras Internship 2024

Every career requires a foundation strong enough to support a student's dreams and aspirations. Internship trip IIT Madras tries to do just that - take an internship and put theory into practice with the help of opportunities. Through a focused summer mini-project of the IIT Madras internship or the two-month fellowship program aims to increase awareness and interest in quality academic research among young students in engineering, management, natural sciences, and humanities.

Eligibility criteria

• Candidates completing 3rd year B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg) or 3rd or 4th year integrated M.E./M.Tech. program, 1st year ME/M.Tech/M.Sc./M.A, MBA with an excellent academic background in higher education are encouraged to apply and highlight their academic achievements which also include work presented in seminars and projects done, design competitions participated, notes /ranked places in math Olympiads and all other awards/recognitions received.

Stipend

• Students also receive a stipend of INR 6,000 per month for a maximum of 2 months.
