The School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Faculty of Public Administration, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) recently announced the launch of a new postgraduate program in Disaster Reduction and response to increasing natural and man-made threats.

Eligibility Criteria, Fees and Date
The PGDDRRM course is a 1 year PG diploma course in IGNOU as the candidates are offered a maximum of three years and a minimum of one year. Candidates with a bachelor's degree can apply for the program and there are no age limit criteria. The total program fee is INR 7,400 and the last date to apply for the IGNOU July session is 30th June. The admission application opens twice a year, during the July and January admission periods through the official website.

In addition to students, the PGDDRRM IGNOU degree management system program is suitable for candidates who fall into these categories:
- Government and NGO actors.
- Soldiers, militias, police, home guards civil protection personnel Academics, geologists, scientists, meteorologists, engineers, journalists, and officials of public enterprises and commercial sectors.
