After the NEET-UG News 2024 controversy, the Center on Thursday i.e. 13th June 2024 informed the Supreme Court that they have decided to cancel the grace marks given to 1,563 students on the examination that was held on 4th June 2024 and the students can re-appear for the neet ug exam, which is likely to be held on 23rd June 2024.
The first complaint was filed by Shivangi Mishra and nine others on 1st June 2024 before the results were declared, as these cases question the widespread irregularities in the NTA NEET-UG 2024 results and NTA’s decision to award marks to more than 1,500 candidates due to the "waste of time". After examining all relevant aspects, the NTA neet 2024 committee concluded that it would be appropriate to recommend that the scorecards of 1563 students be cancelled.
The Supreme Court on neet ug 2024 stated that the neet 2024 result of the concerned candidates who do not wish to appear for the re-examination will be announced in their actual marks without the grace marks. The neet 2024 latest news declares that they would ensure that the neet counselling 2024 date scheduled for 6th July 2024 is not interrupted.
Regarding NEET 2024 Supreme Court heard three petitions challenging the NEET 2024 result. One petition was filed by Physics Wallah CEO Alakh Pandey, who alleged that the NTA's decision to award grace points was "arbitrary". The second petition was filed by SIO members Abdullah Mohammed Faiz and Dr Shaik Roshan Mohiddin demanding the return of neet ug 2024 result and re-examination due to alleged paper leakage and other irregularities. The third petition was filed by a NEET candidate Jaripiti Kartheek challenging the body to award grace marks as compensation for apparent loss of time during the examination.
